 Bobbie  Pettriess

Often in one's life a person comes along who makes an indelible mark on heart and soul. For me, that person is Bobbie Pettriess. I met Bobbie in January of 1996 when I took my first Microbiology class from her. This introduction was the beginning of what has become a cherished friendship. As one of her students, her enthusiasm lit a fire in me to explore new horizons, to study the curious and enjoy life. As we have grown as friends she has challenged me to look to the heart of people, to value them as individuals and to embrace our differences as gifts from God.

Samuel Johnson wrote:

"We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed.
As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop that makes it run over;
so in a series of kindness, there is a last one that makes the heart run over."

She is a part of the foundation of who I am as well as who I am to become.
I love you, dear friend.
